A story shaped in the style of commedia dell’arte about people striving to climb higher in life, regardless of the obstacles and without concern for the means required to do so — including lying and killing, both literally and figuratively.

The performance is based on William Shakespeare’s tragedy Othello — within it, almost everything can be interpreted and “navigated through”: power and the individual, social status and the position of the outsider, wisdom and cunning, love and passion. Even the question of whether tragedy becomes more apparent when viewed from a comic perspective.

The performance takes place at the outdoor amphitheatre in the courtyard of Valmiera Primary School.

There are two routes leading to the amphitheatre: one from Leona Paegles Street and the other from Pāvila Rozīša Street.

From the parking area on Pāvila Rozīša Street, the amphitheatre can be reached via a level, paved or asphalt path. This parking area includes two designated parking spaces for people with disabilities. Bicycle racks are also located here.

From the parking area on Leona Paegles Street, the performance venue can be accessed either via a gently sloping paved walkway or by using stairs. The stairs consist of several steps, each 20 cm high. The seating area of the amphitheatre can be reached via paved steps or wooden ramps. The steps are 14 cm high.

Ramps are available on both sides of the amphitheatre and provide access to the third row of seating. The ramps have a gentle slope.

Assistance dogs are welcome during the performance.
